Bryan Schachter
Chief Investment Officer
I joined Watermark and The Freshwater Group in 2006 as the wellness initiative coordinator while I was still a student in the University of Arizona’s Eller College of Management. I advanced through the ranks by transitioning through analyst and director roles, until I was named chief investment officer in March 2020.
Today, I manage Watermark’s investments, including acquisitions, developments, redevelopments and dispositions performing financial and market feasibility, as well as joint venture, loan, and sale negotiations. Since 2011, The Freshwater Group/Watermark has closed 70 separate transactions with total deal capitalization of more than $6 billion and has approximately $2 billion in the current pipeline. From those transactions, the company’s portfolio grew from seven to 72 projects located across 21 states, including developments, redevelopments, and management transitions.
I enjoy the work I do to help Watermark and The Freshwater Group execute financial transactions in the senior living industry. I remain committed to making a profound impact each day as my experience evolves in this changing industry.
I graduated magna cum laude in 2007 from the University of Arizona’s Eller College of Management with a Bachelor of Science in business administration, with specialization in marketing and entrepreneurship.
