Saturated in color, she brightens the world.

Deb P., age 67

At 67 I feel happier and more fulfilled than at any other point in my life.

After raising my family and working for many years as a community, social, and political activist, I rebooted my art career, which has been both exciting and tremendously fulfilling. I work almost every day in a wonderful studio a mile from my home.

For some years I’ve participated in CritLab, a group that challenges me to continually reflect on my practice. It has helped me think more deeply about my work and constantly ask myself the questions that propel my work forward. I’ve been involved in a couple of other critique groups as well, which have provided meaningful questions and feedback, as well as being a great way to connect with other artists.

I continue to stay active and engaged in organizational work, serving as board president of the Cambridge Art Association. Through my participation with other groups, I’ve had opportunities to exhibit as well as to curate the work of others. I’ve also developed wonderful friendships which have led to taking fabulous art-focused trips, both locally and internationally.

I’m fortunate to be in good health. I take better care of myself, both physically and emotionally, than when I was younger. I row indoors and workout daily and am stronger and more fit than I’ve ever been.

My husband, Ron, and I enjoy travel and time spent with our family. Our adult children are scattered across the country, so we try to visit them as much as we can and take family trips together.
