Gravity-Defying Fun

Residents at The Watermark at Continental Ranch took flight during an Extraordinary Outing to iFLY, an indoor skydiving experience. Thanks to the ingenious idea of Community Life Director Ann Ruffino, eight courageous individuals defied gravity, turning it into a memorable bonding experience. From feeling excitement to nervousness, resident Kathy fearlessly went first and squealed with joy the whole time. Kathy said, "My nephew has been skydiving and when I found out about iFLY it was always on my bucket list. So, when Watermark offered, I jumped at the opportunity!"

Associate Engagement Director Richie purchased two “high flights,” which allowed flyers to ascend higher and faster with their instructors than they would typically achieve flying solo. He did one of them and gifted the other to resident David. After the flight, David said, "It was fantastic! My wife, Marty, who was afraid of getting motion sickness, thought it was so much fun, and she wants to go back!" 

As Ann reflected on the thrilling experience, she said, “I think it was inspiring to all. On the way back home, [a resident] asked me if we could do zip lining next! This experience has opened up new horizons and has us thinking about what could be next.”

“When everyone returned to the community, their excitement was palpable,” Ann continued. “Everyone felt proud and exhilarated. They couldn’t wait to share their experiences, pictures, and videos with the other residents.” 

From defying gravity to sharing laughs and making memories, everyone truly soared together, proving that age is just a number when it comes to adventure and fun!
